Sometimes we ignore that gut feeling we feel within ourselves. You know… the one that just won’t let up and drives you completely mad. You can’t shake it no matter how hard you try. Things/people distract you from it occasionally but through it all it is still there. Gnawing at you. Until you just can’t take it anymore.
The ironic part is realizing your instinct was correct all along. Had you listened to it from the beginning, maybe, just maybe, things would have turned out entirely different. Or maybe not.
Either way, it is completely frustrating to realize that ignoring your gut feeling was the wrong move. But hey, don’t beat yourself up. We are all human. We all make mistakes. And sometimes that entails being your own worst enemy. Hell, even Ms. Olivia Pope herself has lost touch with her gut from time to time.
Next time, try to be more aware of what that gut of yours is trying to tell you. Maybe fear is inhibiting you from following through with what your intuition is trying to alert you. And that is okay. But just imagine how upset you will be to find out that once again you didn’t follow your heart and something bad resulted from that. As crazy, ridiculous, scary as it may sound, that gut feeling you possess, be it bad or good, could be on to something.
Or it could be gas. Time is the teller of all.
Just like many others, I am welcoming 2015 with wide open arms! I am embracing the new year and the new memories that are in store for me.
Every new year brings about excitement and inspiration. It’s a time where most are inspired to make their lives better in anyway possible. Today, the last day of the year, is the day we reflect on our choices for the last 365 days. Did we keep our resolutions? Did we achieve any new feats? And ultimately, are we happy with ourselves and our life?
This year for me was emotionally taxing. I spent the majority of it in a moderate depression and the general feeling of unhappiness. Some family issues arose and pushed me to ultimate stress levels. So, hence why I am running to the new year , just praying things will be different!
I’m not saying my life was horrible, because it wasn’t and I did get to do some awesome things in 2014. But the unhappiness in my life forced me to make drastic decisions and step outside of my comfort zone. That’s exactly when things began to look up for me.
I’m already sure that 2015 will be different. Hopefully, there will be quite a few changes. Although change makes me anxious, I am oh so ready for it!
Here are my 2015 New Years Resolution:
- Be punctual
- Having perseverance in all things I do
- Improving my health (mind + body)
- Continue to push myself out of my own comfort zone
In the comment section below, share with me some of your new years resolutions? Did you accomplish any that you set for 2014?
Until next time world…
I decided to participate in Vlogmas on YoutTube. I am going to post a vlog everyday until Xmas. It seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Plus, I get to leave my comfort zone a bit and try something new. Trying new things will help me grow, plus kick all my fears and doubt in the butt!
Take a look at yesterday’s vlog, in which I speak about not letting negative experiences and the past get in your way of living your life.
Be sure to subscribe if you would like to watch the rest of my vlogs and shenanigans this month!

I’ve been working hard to let go and just live.
I can only tackle my obstacles head on when they arrive.
No sense in beating myself up with doubt and guilt.
No sense in living in the past or obsessing over the future.
Once I let go of this anxiety, life started to become a little easier to bear.
Practicing patience and acceptance is benefiting me greatly.
Exciting things on the horizon for me.
Dear New York Grand Jury ,
No offense…but what the fuck?
Did you not see the video of Eric Garner being arrested that July day?? Did you not see the officer attack him with excessive force and put him in a choke hold that took his last breath? Did it not give you chills to watch a man die from being pinned to the ground and suffocated by at least 5 officers meant to “protect and serve?” Continue reading
I was featured on the “Twenty Somethings Blog.” This awesome blog shares news and stories about men and women in their twenties. What I like most about it is the features of people in their twenties.Occasionally, the blog features posts that are written by 20somethings. The world feels ever so slightly lonely when I am reminded I am not the only one trying to manage my 20s.
I shared my experience as a 20something thus far and my advice for others starting a career in this economy. Be sure to check out my feature! I am grateful I got the opportunity to share a bit of my story on the site.
Thanks for all the support!
